Bomb Threat Disrupts Class at Atlanta Middle School

A bomb sweep of the affected school revealed no danger.

Students at a south Atlanta middle school had to be evacuated for a short time on Friday after someone called in a bomb threat for the campus.

According to FOX 5 Atlanta, students at Crawford Long Middle School were relocated to South Atlanta High School on Friday morning following the call. Roads were shut down by authorities to ensure the safety of nearby motorists and residents, but these roads have been reopened.

Atlanta Public Schools issued a statement around 10:30 a.m. that said parents had been informed of the situation and that police were sweeping the area for the alleged bomb. Police did not find any explosive devices on campus.

According to Crawford Long Middle School’s website, students returned to class around 11:30 a.m.
