Father Killed at Atlanta Bus Stop with Daughter Nearby

The father was trying to get on a bus to take his daughter back to her mother, family said.

An Atlanta family is in mourning after the father of a 3-year-old girl was shot and killed in front of the child at a bus stop.

According to WSB-TV, Dantavious Chatman and his daughter Dakayla were waiting for a bus at a stop outside a church on Donald Lee Hollowell Parkway when someone got out of a car and shot Chatman several times. Dakayla was not injured during the shooting, but has been traumatized by witnessing her father’s murder.

Chatman isn’t a regular bus rider, but was forced to use mass transit after he couldn’t get anyone to help him take Dakalya to her mother.

Police continue to look for Chatman’s killer.
