First-Ever Atlanta Museum Week Approaching
36 area museums will offer free or discounted admissions as part of an event organizers hope becomes an annual tradition.

More than thirty museums in the metro Atlanta area are participating in the inaugural Atlanta Museum Week, which will offer free or discounted admission for patrons.

According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, 28 of the 36 participating museums will offer two-for-one coupons during the week of April 25 - May 1. The remaining eight museums will offer free admission, the AJC said.
Participating museums include the Georgia Aquarium, the Atlanta Botanical Garden, the Center for Puppetry Arts, the High Museum of Art, and the World of Coca-Cola. A full list of participating restaurants can be found here.

The American Alliance of Museums will be hosting its annual meeting in Atlanta from April 26 - 29, coinciding with Atlanta Museum Week, the AJC reports.
Event organizers told the AJC that they expect thousands of people to take advantage of the special deal and hope that the weeklong event becomes a yearly staple of the city’s cultural scene.
