Georgia Tech Student is Partially Paralyzed

James Hubert remains at Grady Memorial Hospital, being treated for his injuries.

The Georgia Tech student who went missing Friday night but was found alive and unconscious Monday morning remains in intensive care at Grady Memorial Hospital, where he is undergoing treatment for his injuries.

James Hubert, 24, is partially paralyzed and suffered several other injuries during his ordeal, reports the AJC.

On her public Facebook page, Hubert’s mother listed her son’s injuries paralysis on the left side; blood on the brain; broken vertebrae, ribs and scapula and a punctured lung.

On Tuesday, Hubert’s public Facebook page posted a photo of him and a friend at the hospital.

Hubert was last seen late Friday evening at The Foundry at Puritan Mill on Joseph E. Lowery Boulevard attending a formal. The AJC reports that Hubert left the event alone and was taking MARTA, but was robbed and beaten up somewhere along the way. He was found Monday morning unconscious along railroad tracks running along DeKalb Avenue and Arizona Street.

Police are waiting for Hubert to recover before interviewing him.
