Murder Suspect Attacks Inmate, Chews Into Own Arm

ATLANTA, GA -- A Roswell man accused of gunning down an attorney during the Monday morning rush hour period in Midtown Atlanta was transported to Grady Memorial Hospital after a physical altercation at the Fulton County Jail.
Raylon Lee Browning was slated to make his first appearance Wednesday morning. However, according to incident reports released by the Fulton County Sheriff's Office, the 39-year-old murder suspect attack another inmate at the jail for "no apparent reason," one sheriff's deputy wrote.
The arrest warrant issued by the sheriff's office note Browning, who was in handcuffs and leg shackles at the time, attacked the inmate around 6:45 p.m. Tuesday, April 4 by striking him several times in the face with a closed fist.

Browning was given verbal commands to stop, but had to be tasered by another deputy on site.
He was transported to the medical wing of the Jail and while in that area, he was observed "biting his left arm and spitting blood out of his mouth" by another deputy.

Browning was arrested Tuesday by Atlanta police detectives and charged with the fatal shooting of Trinh Hong Huynh. He was also booked on two counts of aggravated assault charges after stabbing two individuals in an attack on West Peacthree Street.
Along with the murder and aggravated assault charges, he is now charged with misdemeanor simple battery.
Fulton County Sheriff's Office Senior Public Affairs Officer Tracy Flanagan said Browning has returned from the hospital and is back at the jail.
His first appearance has been scheduled for 11 a.m. Thursday at the jail, which is on Rice Street in Atlanta.
