National Small Business Week Kicks Off in Atlanta
The event runs from May 1-7, and Atlanta is the central location for many of the official activities.

ATLANTA, GA -- SBA Deputy Administrator Douglas Kramer will be in Atlanta Tuesday to kick off day three of the National Small Business Week celebrations that are happening across the nation May 1-7.
SBA Regional Administrator Cassius F. Butts will officially welcome the national event to Atlanta and the Southeast Region followed by a discussion over trends for small business and the current business industries that are experiencing a boom.
Featured panelists will include Todd Greene, Vice President, Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, Jeff Patterson with the Georgia Small Business Development Center, Art Slotkin with Georgia SCORE, Lee Baker with Georgia AARP, and Tisha Tallman, with the Georgia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.

Following the discussion, attendees may attend a forum of their choice to learn more on the topics: The Tech Explosion – Entrepreneurship and Innovation, Hollywood South – Small Business Opportunities in the Entertainment Industry, and Gateway to the World - Expanded International Trade Opportunities with the Savannah Harbor Expansion Project.
The Atlanta event will be live-streamed and is free and open to the public.

Also, in honor of National Small Business Week, Facebook and Instagram are hosting an event on Thursday, May 5, at Ponce City Market to celebrate Atlanta area small businesses with a free event that will include inspirational stories from local entrepreneurs and tips and best practices from Facebook and Instagram experts.
Attendees will also learn directly from the Facebook Creative Shop about ways to more effectively connect with customers and take their businesses’ social media presence to the next level. The event runs from 2-4:30 pm.
