Sewer Repair in Midtown to Affect Williams Street

The repairs will begin Friday and will close a section of Williams Street's northbound lane.

A portion of northbound Williams Street in Midtown is closed while crews work to repair a sewer trunk connection under the roadway.

According to the City of Atlanta Department of Watershed Management, the repair work begins Friday and will shut down Williams Street northbound between 8th Street and Peachtree Place, across from McCamish Pavilion at Georgia Tech.

The department said that It is not know how long repairs will take, but the closure will not affect the 10th Street onramp to the Downtown Connector.

There will be traffic control devices installed to alert motorists of the closed lanes, but the department asks that drivers avoid the area if at all possible.
