Father’s Day 2026 is on Sunday, June 21. We’re asking Patch readers to share the best advice their dads ever gave them and other memories.

Maybe it was a piece of advice that has become one of your guiding principles — the kind of thing you still hear in your head when life gets complicated, when you’re trying to make the right call or when you’ve veered a little off course and need to find your way back.

Maybe it was something practical, passed along in the way dads often do: short, direct and somehow useful forever.

Or maybe it was a classic “dad-ism,” delivered from the front seat of the car, across the dinner table, or in response to a child’s annoying persistence. You know the ones:

“Don’t make me turn this car around.”
