Georgia Tech Men's Swimming Signees Ranked Sixth In The Country

After ranking all of the 2011 incoming recruits in the country, CollegeSwimming.com has awarded the Georgia Tech men's swimming recruiting class the honor of sixth in the country behind powerhouses of Stanford, Cal, Texas, Florida and Ohio State.

The Jackets, armed with three nationally recognized swimmers, are the highest ranked ACC team, beating out perennial powerhouse Virginia who is ranked eighth in the top-25.

Highlighting the Jackets class are Andrew Kosic from West Chester, Pa., Nico Van Duijn of Basserdorf, Switzerland and Andrew Chetcuti from Dubai.

Kosic is a NISCA High School All-American in the 100-Fly and holds multiple national qualifying times. His versatility made him one of Collegeswimming.com's top-100 recruits for the class of 2011.

Van Duijn represented Switzerland internationally at the Singapore Grand Prix in 2010 and most recently finished as runner up at Swiss Long Course Nationals in the 200 Butterfly. His incoming butterfly times rank him faster than any fall signee in the ACC.

Chetcuti is the Maltese national record holder in the 50 and 100 butterfly and freestyle in short course and the long course record holder in the 100 free, all with times that would qualify him for US Senior Nationals.

Rounding out the class are John N. Beall (McIntosh High School, Peachtree City), Dylan Kase (Chattahoochee High School, Alpharetta), Elliott Brockelbank (South Forsyth High School, Alpharetta), Kristopher Bryant (Darlington High School, Kingston), Wilson Wei (Edmond, Okla.) and Mark Sarman (Ashburn, Va.).

Earlier in the year, CollegeSwimming.com gave the Jackets a B+ ranking for their men's recruiting class, slightly edged out by Virginia among ACC schools. The national impact of Tech's top-three recruits pushed them past the Cavs in the top-25 rankings.
