Why attend a Vigil for Peace?

Rock Spring Church at 1824 Piedmont Ave NE (across from Fatt Matt's) is hosting a community candlelight vigil for peace and unity this Sunday November 12th from 6-8pm to help our community cope with the tragedies of repetitive, violent acts that have been pounding our country recently.

When tragedy strikes close to home or close to those you love, wherever they may be, one sees Vigils spring up to help the communities cope with the trauma.

How do these types of events help?

1. They bring people together into a shared space to address a common issue, thus they create a place to start conversations about issues

2. They allow emotional space for grieving and feeling

3. They highlight quietness and the strength found in stillness

4. They get us out of our silos and into our broader community

5. They remind us of what's most important to us
