Braves Ozuna Pleads No Contest In Gwinnett DUI Case: Reports

The outfielder was arrested in August 2022 in Norcross on a driving under the influence charge, media reports say.

NORCROSS, GA — Braves outfielder Marcell Ozuna has entered a no contest plea after he was charged with driving under the influence in August 2022, according to media reports.

Ozuna was arrested in Norcross and charged with DUI less safe and failure to maintain lane, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. He has to pay a $1,000 fine due to the agreement.

Channel 2 Action News reported Ozuna was accused of speeding in a 35 mph zone at the time of his arrest. During a traffic stop, an officer smelled alcohol on his breath and "Ozuna had watery, red eyes," the outlet reported.

Ozuna made his Braves debut on April 30, 2013, and continues to be remain active. Nicknamed "The Big Bear," the No. 20 player has a .146 batting average and 9 RBIs so far in this year's regular season. The Braves next game is at 7:20 p.m. Tuesday against the Boston Red Sox.
