Gwinnett Officer Seriously Injures Pedestrian in Crash
The officer was responding to another pedestrian crash in the area, police say.

NORCROSS, GA — Gwinnett Police are investigating one of their own after an officer-involved crash Sunday night left a pedestrian with life-threatening injuries.
Shortly before 9 p.m., the officer was traveling westbound on Singleton Road near Stonewood Drive in Norcross, responding to a different pedestrian accident in the area.
The officers' car left the roadway, went up on the right curb and struck two people walking on the sidewalk, the department said in a news release.

"Our hearts go out to the family of the victims," Gwinnett Police spokeswoman Cpl. Michele Pihera said. "As officers, we routinely investigate incidents involving others. It’s never easy investigating an incident involving one of our own."
The names and ages of the pedestrians are being withheld until their families have been notified, police said.
