Missing 4-Year-Old Norcross Girl Found Safe

The child's mother faces kidnapping, battery and child cruelty charges.

NORCROSS, GA — A 4-year-old girl who police believe was abducted on Tuesday has been found and is unharmed.

Meanwhile, her biological mother is in jail, facing kidnapping and other charges.

Mireida Lemus was believed to be in extreme danger after authorities say her mother, Gladis Lemus, 30, abducted her Tuesday morning in the Hammond Drive area.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation and Norcross Police Department posted a Levi's Call around noon, looking for a gray, 2009 Ford Flex.

Police on Wednesday did not provide details on where Mireida was found. But Gwinnett County Detention Center records show that Gladis Lemus was booked on charges of battery, cruelty to children and kidnapping.
