2. Man learns his fate after pleading guilty in 2023 case where 2 teens died of fentanyl overdoses (11alive.com) — A drug dealer has been sentenced to 40 years, 35 in prison, for selling fentanyl-laced pills that killed two Norcross teenagers in 2023, bringing some closure to a devastating case for local families. Meet the Gwinnett County teachers of the year for 2028 (thegeorgiasun.com) — Gwinnett County Public Schools has named its 2028 local Teachers of the Year, including honorees at Norcross Elementary and Norcross High who were chosen by their peers. 4. Mayor Paul warns legislative plan could cut Sandy Springs revenue by a third (roughdraftatlanta.com) — State plans to phase out homestead property taxes could eventually hit Norcross's budget, as city officials join others across Georgia warning it may cut into funding for police, parks, and road work. While Sandy Springs' mayor leads the criticism, Norcross City Council has also been weighing how the proposal and new sales tax structure might shift local tax burdens.
