About the Instructor:
Bobby grew up with honeybees in the walls of his bedroom for most of his childhood. Even though they were removed 15 years ago, they stayed buzzing in his mind. Though he had always studied about honeybees, he had never hand the chance to keep his own.
Five years ago, he had the opportunity to purchase complete equipment and two thriving hives – and that’s how his adventure as a beekeeper – and his company Blue Sky Honey – began. That same year he was able to help on a removal of two more colonies of bees from an old building on his farm. After the first year, he started doing swarm collection and bee removals from buildings - and has now built his bee yards up to managing over 85 colonies! On May 3, he completed the Certified Beekeeper portion of the Master Beekeeper program at the University of Georgia , and he looks forward to continuing to discover more about the fascinating world of bees.
