Lakeside High to Open On Time With a Little Help From Students, Friends
Lakeside High School's current and past building has been renovated and reequipped. For three days this week, students and friends moved the school back in.
I spent a few hours at yesterday, responding to last week’s siren call for all hands on deck to put a school back where it came from four months ago. At the end of last school year, everything not nailed down was moved out of the current building to allow for a complete renovation. The stuff is being re-installed into reequipped rooms by students, relatives, friends and teachers this week. Today, registration for new students took place at the same time, while the all day Viking Visit Day has moved to Saturday. Viking Visit is required for club sign-ups, home room assignments and paying dues and fees. It’s a huge event with nearly a hundred volunteers.
Lakeside’s principal Joe Reed said school will start on time.
