Alarm call at Dollar General
There was an alarm call at the Dollar General (2846 Lavista Road) on December 17, DeKalb County police said.
The alarm call went out around 1 am and police responded, noticing the front door was open. They notified the district manager, who came to look through the store and found nothing was missing. The front safe was open, but the money was still in it.

Car stolen by a friend
A man said he let his friend use his car to do Christmas shopping on December 17, but it was never returned, police said.

The man told police he let his friend Dale use his white 2000 BMW 740 IL to go shopping, but Dale never returned the vehicle like he agreed to do.
Robbery and assault at Valley Oaks Apartments
An assault and robbery occurred at the (2402 Johnson Road) on December 17, police said.
That evening, the victim said he had been assaulted by two unknown suspects. The three of them were hanging out in his apartment when the two suspects asked to have sex with the victim and offered him money, but he said no. The two suspects then grabbed the victim, putting their hands on his face and around his neck, striking him in the face with their closed fists. They took $60 from his pocket. He fled the scene to a friend’s house and saw the suspects fleeing too. He could not, or would not, give names of the suspects. While he was slightly injured, he refused medical help.
Assault at Plaster Road
A man leaving an area nightclub was assaulted on December 22, police said.
At 1:32 am, the victim said he was leaving Club El Colorado, which is on Johnson Road and Plaster Road, when two black men approached him and asked for money, but he refused. The two suspects then took a glass bottle and hit the victim across his nose, cutting it slightly. He defended himself and the suspects then ran away, allowing the victim to return to his house and have his roommate call police. The victim went to Northside Hospital for treatment.
