Emory Experts To Discuss COVID-19 Health Concerns Among Minorities

COVID-19 is taking a disproportionate toll on Black, Indigenous and Latinx minority populations. Emory experts will help educate others about health and COVID-19 concerns related to these groups during two special events on Thursday, Aug. 27, and Saturday, Aug. 29.

“COVID-19 in the Latinx Community”

Thursday, Aug. 27, at 5:30 p.m.

During this live webinar for health professionals, Latinx physicians from across the Emory School of Medicine will discuss the disproportionate impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the Latinx community and effective responses within the Emory network and beyond. A community-focused webinar on the same topic is being planned for later.

“Healthy and Undefeated”

Saturday, Aug. 29, at 10 a.m.

Emory physicians Harold Moore and Janelle Holder will participate in this virtual forum hosted by NAACP DeKalb County. Medical experts will discuss how to survive during COVID-19 and beyond by sharing information on health facts, nutritional guides, fitness techniques and ways to change health and economic disparities in these communities.
