Julie Medlin, PhD, and Steven Knauts, PhD, licensed
psychologists in practice in the Atlanta area, co-authored
Avoiding Sexual Dangers: A Parent’s Guide to Protecting Your Child. They will present steps parents can take to protect their children from sexual abuse and exposure to pornography. How to spot potential sexual abusers and the signs that a child may have been sexually abused will be discussed. In addition, the authors will address what parents should do if they think their child has been molested. Dr. Medlin specializes in treating sexual abuse victims and perpetrators, frequently testifies as a sexual abuse expert in court, and has appeared on CNN and other national TV programs to discuss these issues. Dr. Knauts
specializes in treating sexual issues in children, adolescents, and adults, and has conducted trainings for foster parents, mental health professionals, and the community. Copies of their recently published book will be on hand for purchasing after the presentation. Registration is not required.
