Symposium/reception for “Like a Purple Haze Across the Land: The Art of Benny Andrews”

Exhibition curator Pellom McDaniels III will discuss the art of Benny Andrews, followed by a presentation by artist Nene Humphrey, Andrews’ wife of 20 years. Her talk is titled “Artist to Artist: Reflections on a Life Together.” Light refreshments and a chance to view the exhibition will be available before and after the presentations. The symposium is co-sponsored by the Department of African American Studies, the Department of Art History, and the Graduate Institute of the Liberal Arts.
