Fireball Over Georgia: Did You Spot Something in the Sky?
Possible meteorite visible from region late Saturday.

There are reports from across the region regarding a fireball shooting across the sky Saturday night.
Scientists at the Tellus Museum told Fox Atlanta that there was a possible meteorite, and shared NASA footage of the fireball passing over the area.
The American Meteor Society collects reports of fireballs, and their site includes nearly 50 meteor sightings Saturday night across five states in the region.

A Johns Creek resident described a “bight blue/purple flash like lightning lit up (the) whole ground and trees, kind of flickering.”

From a Sandy Springs report: “I was outside looking down and saw a brilliant blue flash of light off of my legs and looked up and saw a very large circle (quarter of moon) of blue and white with a long tail of white, orange and yellow. Truly spectacular!”
