The Lakeside Vikings 2013 high school soccer season came to an end on Saturday as host and No. 1 ranked McIntosh pulled away for a 6-1 victory in the Class AAAAA quarterfinals. McIntosh which had defeated Lakeside 1-0 earlier in the season got out to a 1-0 lead only to see the Vikings score to tie the game at 1-1. The Lakeside goal was just the second scored all season against the McIntosh defense which has led the team to a perfect 21-0 season heading into the semifinals. McIntosh got two more goals in the first half on the way to a 3-1 lead at the break. Lakeside gave up a quick goal to start the second half as the Vikings went on to fall by the final of 6-1. The Vikings wrap up the 2013 season with a 14-5-2 overall record and as the Region 6-AAAAA champions.
