Lakeside High Gets New Principal

Damian Bounds takes over after a controversial tenure from the school's previous principal, Jason Clyne.

Atlanta, GA -- Damian Bounds is the new principal of Lakeside High School.

According to a DeKalb County schools statement, Bounds' first day is on July 25, 2016.

Bounds takes over from former principal Jason Clyne, who was suspended in March after he allegedly made some racial and disparaging remarks to employees, with one remark reported to be, “You don’t want to mess with me. I’m a redneck master with a degree. I run these 40 acres!”

“Bounds was selected for this position using our new principal selection process which included, a leadership attributes survey by school stakeholders, a panel interview, a focus group with school stakeholders, and an interview with the superintendent,” said School Superintendent Dr. Stephen Green.
