Petite Auberge Serves Oktoberfest Menu all October and Hosts 19th Annual Oktoberfest Party

Petite Auberge Oktoberfest Party THIS Sat., Oct. 24; German and Bavarian Specialities Served Through Oct. 31

There are a few things sure to signal the arrival of Fall in Atlanta. Residents don their favorite Falcons, Bulldogs or Yellow Jackets sweatshirts, local farmers set up their pumpkin patches and corn mazes, and Petite Auberge hosts an annual Oktoberfest Menu and Party.

Petite Auberge is a classic French restaurant owned and operated by brothers of German descent, located at 2935 North Druid Hills Road. The restaurant celebrates the Oktoberfest holiday locally, with a traditional Oktoberfest dinner menu all month long and an authentic Oktoberfest Party on the fourth Saturday of the month.

From Thurs., Oct. 1 through Sat., Oct. 31, the restaurant offers an additional dinner menu, featuring traditional German and Bavarian appetizers, entrees, sides and desserts. The appetizer is Swiss Style Wurstsalat with thinly sliced knackwurst, Swiss cheese, onions and pickles for $8.95

Homemade Apple Strudel with vanilla bean ice cream, priced at $6.95, tops it all off, for dessert. The entire menu is available every night at dinner, in addition to the restaurant’s regular dinner menu.

The 19th Annual Oktoberfest Party happens on Sat., Oct. 24, from 6:30 to 10 p.m. It features a buffet with all-you-can-eat traditional German and Bavarian cuisine (served until 9 p.m.). Items on the buffet include: Bavarian pork roast, German sauerbraten, wiener schnitzel, knackwurst, bratwurst, fried trout, potato pancakes, dumplings, sauerkraut, spaetzle, wurst salad, red cabbage and homemade apple strudel.

The lively event takes place in the restaurant’s banquet rooms, which are transformed into a Bavarian-style festival hall, and all seating is open. The event also boasts a cash bar with select German draft beers and a selection of German wines as well as traditional “oompah” music by the famous polka party band Bavarian Express (which may even encourage the chicken dance, as in past years).

The party costs $40 per person and includes coffee, tea, tax and gratuity. Reservations are requested by calling 404-634-6268.

More About Petite Auberge

In 1974, Wolfgang Gropp opened Petite Auberge after receiving training in the culinary arts as an apprentice and chef at some of the finest hotels and restaurants in Europe. Upon immigrating to the Untied States, Chef Gropp and his wife Ilse, along with Ilse’s brother Helmut Bittl as maitre d’, poured their hearts and souls into making Petite Auberge a favorite of generation after generation of Atlanta’s diverse population. In anticipation of retirement, Chef Gropp passed his knowledge, experience and love for creating great classical dishes down to his sons Michael and Anthony. Now, Michael serves as General Manager, while Anthony works as Head Chef.

As second-generation restaurateurs, Michael and Anthony believed that the future of Petite Auberge was in the incorporation of olive oil into their already delectable dishes. Starting with the launch of their retail, in-house Olive Oil and Vinegar Boutique, Michael and Anthony have incorporated olive oils into many of the dishes their customers have come to know and love. For the past year, visitors to Petite Auberge have been able to purchase these olive oils and balsamic vinegars for use at home or to give as gifts.

With special menus like Mediterranean Entree Week, Cajun Creole, Wild Game Nights and Oktoberfest, as well as special events such as Dinner and a Diva, New Year’s Eve, Valentine’s Day and Mother’s Day, Petite Auberge’s guests have had many ways to enjoy a special meal with family or friends. Furthermore, Michael’s personal love of wine has allowed Petite Auberge to assemble a spectacular wine list, boasting varietals from some of the finest wine regions from all over the world.

Petite Auberge has two banquet rooms located just past its fully stocked bar. In its distinctive and classically decorated banquet rooms, the Petite Auberge family has proudly served people celebrating anniversaries, wedding rehearsals, wedding receptions and all manners of life achievement. Petite Auberge also offers event catering, corporate employee dining and craft services. For more information and complete menus, visit www.petiteauberge.com or call 404-634-6268.
