Prepare For Energy Turn-Down In Offices During Winter Recess

Emory will reduce energy usage on the university campus by turning down heat in buildings that are unoccupied for extended periods of time over Emory’s winter recess.

From Dec. 24, 2020, until Jan. 3, 2021, the heating systems in designated buildings will maintain a minimum temperature of 55 F, which will reduce energy usage while still protecting building contents.

Any buildings or departments wishing to change their space’s status during the turn-down must contact the Campus Services Work Management Center at cscsc@emory.edu or (404) 727-7463 by Friday, Dec. 18.

All building occupants who will be out during winter recess are encouraged to turn off and unplug all electronics and lights and to empty deskside waste bins.
