Seven North Druid Hills-Briarcliff groups honored with $1,000 grants - "collectively a major impact," Wells Fargo leader says

Wells Fargo announces $1.8 million for United Way and Community Support campaign

Seven North Druid Hills-Briarcliff non-profits were honored on Oct. 28 by Wells Fargo team members with $1,000 Days of Giving donations.

Wells Fargo also announced that its Atlanta-area employees gave or pledged $1.8 million this fall in the United Way and Community Support campaign – 24 percent more than last year.

In all, 240 groups are receiving $1,000 checks at four community breakfasts across Atlanta.

Said Wells Fargo Area President Scott Asher, “To some a $1,000 grant may seem small, but we know each of these great groups will be able to make a huge difference with this. And collectively this will have a major impact in our community.”

With the program in its sixth year, giving across Georgia will exceed $1.5 million this fall.

All the groups were selected by frontline team members in bank offices in the Atlanta area for the work they are doing locally.

“We are doing our best to be a great local bank, and this is a cornerstone of our local giving and volunteerism,” said Robert Dobbs, business banking manager.

The following seven North Druid Hills-Briarcliff groups received $1,000 grants.

Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta
Chris Kids
DDD Foundation
George West Mental Health Foundation/Skyland Trail
International Rescue Committee
Jerusalem House
The Empty Stocking Fund

Similar events are taking place this fall across Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee and Mississippi.
