Shallowford Presby. 60-member Adult Choir Presents Special All-Music Service on Sunday, May 17
60-member adult choir will sing "Requiem for the Living" accompanied by harp, flute, oboe, strings, percussion and organ.
Shallowford’s 60-member adult Chancel Choir will sing “Requiem for the Living,” a dynamic and exciting five-movement contemporary work by Dan Forrest, accompanied by a chamber ensemble of musicians, at 11 a.m. on Sunday morning May 17, 2015 in the sanctuary at Shallowford Presby. Church, 2375 Shallowford Rd., Atlanta, GA 30345. www.shallowford.org
The community is invited to attend this free musical event. A complimentary nursery is provided for ages 0-3 years.
Composer Dan Forrest says of his work, “The five movements of “Requiem for the Living” form a narrative just as much for the living, and their own struggle with pain and sorrow, as for the dead.

Forrest’s Requiem for the Living (published in 2013) received more than a hundred performances world-wide within a year of its composition, including performances in Canada, South America, Europe, Africa, Asia, and multiple performances at Carnegie Hall.
