Shallowford Presbyterian Church Seeks Director of Children's Ministries

Welcoming congregation has grown to 900+ members, seeks talented person to optimize programs for children and families

Shallowford Presbyterian Church is seeking a Director of Children’s Ministries to advance and expand its ministry to children and their families.

Known as a welcoming, energetic and committed congregation, Shallowford has grown from 745 members in 2010 to 928 members today. Many new members are young families who are eager to plug into church life, grow in their faith, and fellowship with one another. The church is looking for a Director of Children’s Ministries who can optimize the programs for children and families, innovate multigenerational activities, and collaborate teamwork with church staff and volunteers.

The mission of Shallowford Presbyterian Church is to invite all people to a faithful way of life in Christ and in community. The church is located in the North Druid Hills/North Briarcliff area of central DeKalb County.

This position reports directly to Catherine Foster, Associate Pastor for Mission and Discipleship, and is responsible for overseeing all programming ministry and needs for children up through 5th grade, including Sunday mornings, Wednesday evenings, special events, and summer activities. The position is 30 hours a week (3/4 time) and includes a continuing education budget.

Qualifications: A bachelor’s degree is required, preferably in Christian education or other educational area. Certification as a Presbyterian Christian Educator or theological education is desired.
