Shallowford Presbyterian School Expands, Opens First Grade
Respected private preschool builds on 50-year legacy, offers grade school
Excitement and emotion filled the halls on August 10 at Shallowford Presbyterian School (SPS) as parents and faculty watched the inaugural class of 12 first graders enter their classroom with huge smiles and excitement.
Meredith Moseley serves as School Director and heads a staff of 18 teachers and 11 assistants to serve over 150 students in Preschool, Kindergarten and First Grade classes. Working with teachers and parents, Director Moseley developed a skills-appropriate curriculum that meets statewide standards while allowing sufficient flexibility for the different learning styles of students.
“Shallowford Presbyterian School offers a challenging, balanced curriculum that encourages exploration and discovery,” said Ms. Mosley. “Our classrooms are student- centered and focused on developing critical thinking skills. Our small class sizes allow our teachers to customize instruction in order to meet the diverse needs of our learners. Every child is unique, which is why SPS believes in nurturing the whole child physically, emotionally, socially, cognitively and spiritually.”
