Toco Hill Publix Employee Thwarts Potential Robber
An attempted robbery at the Toco Hill Publix on Sept. 17 was thwarted by a Publix employee who thought fast.

A Toco Hill employee fought back against a potential robber Sept. 17 by smacking the suspect in the head with a shopping basket, DeKalb County police said.
A Publix employee was approached inside the store by the suspect, who had his left hand in the left pocket of his hooded jacket, simulating a gun at about 11pm. The suspect said, “Give it up, give up the money.”
When the employee noticed the suspect did not have a weapon, he grabbed the suspect’s hand and then hit the suspect in the head with a plastic shopping basket.
