Village Theatre Appoints New Artistic Director

Two additional cast members promoted to associate artistic directors

Atlanta – June 16, 2015 – Village Theatre today announced Chris Clabo as the new artistic director. Clabo has more than 16 years performing in the Atlanta community and currently performs with the theatre’s main cast and traveling team.

Clabo is a founding member of Village Theatre which opened in 2008. He studied under improvisers from Atlanta, I/O West in Los Angeles, Improv Boston and Upright Citizens Brigade in New York before joining Village Theatre. Off-stage Clabo has appeared in numerous commercials as well as HBO’s mini-series “John Adams”.

“I am honored to take on the role of artistic director at Village Theatre,” said Chris Clabo. “I love being on-stage performing and I am excited to continue to elevate the artistic direction of the theatre by creating new and exciting forms of comedy.”

Clabo will be responsible for creating new shows, working with community partners, managing rehearsals for each performance group and working with new talent. In this position, Clabo will continue to build Village Theatre as a leader in Atlanta’s improv community.

In addition to Clabo, Village Theatre promoted Josh Warren and Marc Mooney to associate artistic directors. In this position, Warren and Mooney are both responsible for writing, directing and producing the theatre’s main stage shows.

Warren is a founder of Village Theatre and has been teaching improv to up and coming improvisers since 2007. He studied at the Upright Citizens Brigade in New York and is a working actor. Warren has appeared in a range of films including Trouble with the Curve, Adult Swim’s series Your Pretty Face is Going to Hell and the remake of 1984’s Footloose. He was also the voice of Wabusabi in Aqua Teen Hunger Force.

Mooney is a founding member of Village Theatre and has more than 12 years of improv experience. He is a member of the theatre’s main cast and traveling team as well as an improv instructor. In addition to his comedy writing, Mooney has 15 years of experience as a writer and producer for CNN, HLN and truTV.
