Workshop-Mindfulness in the Classroom

Speakers will lay the theoretical and experiential foundation for participants in mindfulness matters in the classroom. Psychologists and other specialists, parents, teachers are invited.

Dr. Gloria Meaux is a licensed psychologist who was the school psychologist for Catholic Social Services and has consulted with various Catholic Schools in the Archdiocese of Atlanta. Currently she is in private practice with a specialty in psychoeducational assessments for children and working with children who have emotional or learning concerns.

Dr. Nancy C. Weisman, a licensed psychologist, is the cofounder of the Metro Atlanta Mindfulness in Education Network (MAMEN). She was introduced to mindfulness meditation in 2006 and participated in Mindful Schools training program. She also trained with Susan Kaiser-Greenland in teaching mindfulness to children and teens. Dr. Weisman incorporates mindfulness in her private practice in the treatment of children with impulses control, depression, and anxiety.
