NE Health District Adds 209 COVID Cases And Oconee County Death
Oconee County Schools reports drops in Active Cases and Quarantines.

With the addition of 141 confirmed COVID-19 cases based on molecular tests, 68 cases based on antigen rapid tests, and one death, the seven-day rolling average of the three indicators of the disease increased in the Northeast Health District on Friday.
The death listed in the Friday Daily Status Report of the Department of Public Health was of a 76-year-old male with a chronic condition in Oconee County.
The seven-day rolling average of added deaths increased to 0.9 from 0.7 on Thursday.

The Department of Public Health listed a probable COVID-19 death–as opposed to a confirmed COVID-19 death--in Elbert County in the Friday Daily Status Report, but it gives no characteristics of the deceased.
The 68 confirmed cases based on molecular tests pushed up the seven-day rolling average of added cases to 113.9 from 112.9 on Thursday.

Every county in the 10-county Northeast Health District added molecular-confirmed cases in the Friday Daily Status Report, with Oconee County adding seven cases and Clarke County adding 25. The seven-day rolling average of added cases in both counties fell on Friday.
With the addition of the 68 cases based on the antigen tests, the seven-day rolling average of added cases increased to 28.1 from 23.3 on Thursday. Every county except Oglethorpe added a case, with Oconee County adding eight and Clarke County adding 17.
Oconee County Schools, in its Weekly COVID-19 Status Report, listed 10 Active COVID-19 Cases at the system’s 11 schools, down from 13 a week earlier, and 130 Active Quarantines Due to Close Contact, down from 139 a week earlier.
The Georgia Hospital Association (GHA) and the Georgia Emergency Management Agency (GEMA) reported on Friday that the number of COVID-19 patients at area hospitals (85) decreased by three from the day before, that the number of ICU beds in use (67) increased by five from the day before, and that the number of adult ventilators in use (28) was the same as the day before.
The Department of Community Health Reported four new cases of COVID-19 among residents of long-term care facilities in the Northeast Health District and three new cases of the disease among staff at those facilities.
