Oconee, Clarke Add COVID-19 Deaths; NE District Adds Seven
The Daily Status Report from the Department of Public Health added more COVID-19 deaths in the Northeast District than on any previous day.

The Northeast Health District added seven deaths attributed to COVID-19 in the Daily Status Report of the Department of Public Health on Tuesday, with Oconee County and Clarke County each accounting for one of the deaths.
The addition of seven deaths was the largest ever recorded for the 10-county Northeast Health District in a single day, and the seven-day rolling average of added cases increased to 2.3 on Tuesday from 1.4 on Monday.
Barrow County added four deaths, and Jackson County added one.

The Oconee County death was of a woman identified as 90 plus years of age with a known chronic condition, while the Clarke County death also was of a 90-plus-year-old woman with a known chronic condition.
The total number of COVID-19 deaths now stands at eight in Oconee County and 14 in Clarke County.

The 10-county Northeast Health District added 18 confirmed COVID-19 cases in the Tuesday Daily Status Report, the same as the day before, and the seven-day rolling average of added cases dropped from 37.1 on Monday to 33.7 on Tuesday.
In the separate Long-Term Care Facility Report of the Department of Community Health issued on Monday, four additional deaths attributed to COVID-19 were recorded in area long-term care homes with COVID-19 illnesses.
One of those deaths was in Greene County, and three were in Walton County.
The High Shoals Health and Rehabilitation nursing home in North High Shoals in the far west of Oconee County, according to the Monday report, listed 47 of its 68 residents as having tested positive for COVID-19, up from 40 on Friday.
The Georgia Emergency Management Agency reported on Monday that 19 Critical Care Beds in the area’s hospitals were available, up from 10 on Sunday.
