1 Hurt in Car-Train Collision in Downtown Norcross
The accident occurred around 6 p.m. and was expected to close roads well into the evening.
One person needed to be extricated from a vehicle after a car-train collision Thursday evening in Downtown Norcross.
The accident occurred around 6 p.m. at Holcomb Bridge Road and Thrasher Street in the city limits.
Gwinnett Fire spokesman Capt. Tommy Rutledge said the person was conscious and alert after being extricated at 6:27 p.m. The patient was taken to Gwinnett Medical Center in Lawrencenville. No one else was in the vehicle and there were no other injuries reported.

Norcross Police said Holcomb Bridge and Jones Street will be closed to motorists until around 9 p.m. Thursday while accident is investigated.
