The scholarships are given in conjunction with the school system’s sharing of the annual Broad Prize, the nation’s largest education award honoring urban school districts.
Gwinnett shard the award — and $1 million in scholarships — with Orange County, Fla. Both systems received $500,000 in scholarships given to seniors, who, like their school districts, demonstrate a record of improvement throughout high school and who have financial need.
