Fire crews found dangerous CO levels Tuesday in a Peachtree Corners townhouse.

Four family members were sent to the hospital with possible carbon monoxide poisoning Tuesday morning in Peachtree Corners.

Gwinnett Fire Capt. Tommy Rutledge said in a Tuesday afternoon press release that firefighters found dangerous levels of carbon monoxide inside a townhouse in the 6400 block of Meadow Rue Drive, located near Holcomb Bridge Road in Peachtree Corners.

Two adults were taken to Gwinnett Medical Center; two children ages of around 3-4 years old were taken to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Scottish Rite.

Crews arrived to find the four occupants showing signs of carbon monoxide poisoning. “Two of the family members showed increased CO concentration levels upon medical assessment by paramedics at the scene,” Rutledge said in the release.

Members of the fire department’s hazardous materials team found high levels of carbon monoxide in the residence. Readings near the furnace were close to 460 parts per million, which is “extremely dangerous,” Rutledge said.

Residents in two adjacent condos were temporarily evacuated while crews ventilated the area.
