6th Annual Norcross Blue Devils Run: Be a Part of the Community Excitement!

Join us for the 6th annual Peachtree Road Race Qualifier, the Norcross Blue Devils Run! As part of this exciting morning, you can choose your distance (5K or 1M) and run for speed, fun, or both! We’ll have a race clock at the end of the race so you can take note how fast you run the race but we encourage you to focus on the fun you’re having! There will be water stations manned by our local Boy Scouts at the beginning, middle, and end-got to stay hydrated! We’ll be awarding gift cards from New Balance to our Overall Male and Female winners as well as our Overall Masters Male and Female champions! Don’t worry, we’re also awarding medals for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finishers in all age groups and for fun run participants, and raffle prizes.

Date: Saturday, January 30, 2016 (it’s great to run in the cold!)

Location: Pinckneyville Middle School in Peachtree Corners (yes, it is a heated gym with bathrooms)

Time: 8 a.m. for 5K, 1 mile after 5K completed (doors open at 7 a.m.)

Cost: $25 pre-registration and $30 race day

Rather be a spectator? Bring your friends while you watch runners navigate through the neighborhoods. Join our warm up instructor from the YMCA and get grooving to the music before the 5K. Need a massage? Touchstone Therapeutic Massage will again be on hand to give sports massages. Before, during, and after the race, our Fowler YMCA will entertain our youngest inside the gym.

To top it off, you’ll get the coolest t-shirt yet! You can wear it while you enjoy the delicious spread from Jason’s Deli, coffee from Starbuck’s on PIB/South Old Peachtree, and baked goods from two local Girl Scout troops. Show off your swag in photos with our very own Chick-fil-a cow! Stick around for another exciting raffle drawing after our awards ceremony. Runners are automatically entered to win and spectators can buy tickets for a chance to win gift cards and items from restaurants, athletic stores, and area businesses (must be present to win).

Proceeds from this student led race help pay for NHS’ cross country/track & field participation fees so every student can take part, regardless of financial status. The race also offsets uniform and equipment costs, meet fees, travel expenses, and provides opportunities to participate in out-of-state competitions.
