Alcohol Package Sales on City's First Referendum Vote
Peachtree Corners to decide the issue on Nov. 4 at City Hall.

In the first city-wide vote to be held by the City of Peachtree Corners, residents will decide Nov. 4, 2014 on whether to allow alcohol package sales within city limits.
This is a municipal election, which means voting will be held at Peachtree Corners City Hall, 147 Technology Parkway, Peachtree Corners, GA 30092.

Voters will not use their usual polling places for county, state or federal elections to cast their votes for the city referendum. Gwinnett County does not conduct city elections.
βOnly residents of the incorporated City of Peachtree Corners are eligible to vote,β said City Clerk Kym Chereck. βAll residents who are registered voters may vote on the special referendum.β

Residents may cast their votes in several ways: Absentee Voting by Mail, Absentee Voting in Person (early voting), and on Election Day in person.
βAbsentee/Early Voting in person will begin on Monday, Oct. 13 and will close the Friday before Election Day, Oct. 31,β said Chereck. Voting will be available weekdays during City Hall regular business hours: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Voters must have proper identification to cast their votes. No absentee/early voting is permitted by law the Monday before Election Day. There will be no Saturday voting.
Absentee ballot applications are available on the cityβs website www.peachtreecornersga.gov β select the βGovernmentβ tab, then choose βCity Electionsβ in the pull down menu for voter information.
βI would like to encourage everyone to exercise their right to vote in the cityβs first municipal election,β said Mayor Mike Mason. βPlease remember City Hall will be the polling location for this referendum vote.β
City Council approved adding the referendum to the ballot at its Sept. 16, 2014 meeting.
The referendum was called due to a citizenβs petition to add alcohol package sales.
