Alleged Robber Fires Gun, Says 'Empty the Cash Register'

News Nearby: The robbery occurred Tuesday night at a Shell Station near Lilburn.

Police in Gwinnett County are looking for an armed robber who allegedly fired a gunshot before stealing cash from a convenience store.

Lilburn Police said the incident happened Tuesday evening at the Shell Station located at 32 Killian Hill Road. Police said a man approached a store employee as he was cleaning outside around 8:50 p.m. and brandished a gun.

“The suspect pointed a full frame black semi-auto pistol with a silver slide at the employee, then pointed the gun at the ground and fired one shot into the parking lot. The suspect then demanded that the employee go inside and ’empty the cash register,’ “ police said in a news release.

The suspect is described as an Asian man in his mid- to late-20s.

Approximately four to five minutes prior to the robbery, an Asian man entered the store wearing jogging shorts and a tank top. This subject was approximately 5’7’’ to 5’8’’ and weighed 130 to 145 lbs. The subject has a “sleeved” style tattoo on his left bicep area. The male subject had his hair pulled back into a pony tail hair style. It is believed that this man is possibly a witness and is a person of interest in this case.
