Kiernan Christ of Peachtree Corners Recognized for Oustanding Scholistic Achievements

Kiernan Christ of Peachtree Corners, GA was among the 508 students from Iowa and throughout the nation who were recently invited to be honored at The University of Iowa Belin-Blank Center's Recognition Ceremony.
Kiernan is the daughter of Eric Christ and Maureen McIvor of Neely Farms.
The ceremony was held Sunday, October 9, 2011 at the Iowa Memorial Union on the University of Iowa campus where 62 students were invited to be recognized by the Center for exceptional performance in the Belin-Blank Center student talent search based on participation in the EXPLORE exam, an ACT exam for designed for eighth graders.

Additionally, recognized students were given the opportunity to honor a teacher they credited for having a profound influence on their lives. Kiernan selected Patti Phillips of Notre Dame Academy located in Duluth for this honor. Phillips was Kiernan's 3rd grade teacher at the Duluth school.
Kiernan Christ is 10 years old and currently in 7th grade. She is home schooled through the Homeschoolers Excelling in Greater Atlanta (HEGA) program. Other students were recognized for scholarships to the Belin-Blank Center summer residential gifted program, meritorious awards at the 2011 Invest Iowa State Invention Convention, student research presenters at the 2011 Iowa Junior Science and Humanities Symposium, or participants in the 2011 Secondary Science Training Program.
