Peachtree Corners Weather: How low with the temp go?

When will the cold stop?

Soon, says the National Weather Service, but not before another couple more nights of dangerously cold temperatures.

The weather service has issued a Hard Freeze Warning for much of central and north Georgia until Wednesday morning. A Hard Freeze Warning means temperatures will fall below 28 degrees for extended periods of time, putting people, pets, pipes and plants at risk.

The temps should rise past 28 degrees by 10 a.m. or 11 a.m. Wednesday.

The weather service posted:

ALL INTEREST ACROSS NORTH AND CENTRAL GEORGIA ARE ENCOURAGED TO CHECK ON THE ELDERLY TO ENSURE THEY HAVE A SAFE AND RELIABLE HEATING SOURCE. BRING PETS INSIDE AND TAKE PRECAUTIONS TO PROTECT LIVESTOCK FROM THE EXTREME COLD. THE COLD TEMPERATURES COULD ALSO CAUSE OUTDOOR WATER PIPES TO FREEZE AND POSSIBLY BURST. PIPES SHOULD BE DRAINED... WRAPPED OR ALLOWED TO DRIP OVERNIGHT. WATER PIPES ASSOCIATED WITH BATHROOMS OR KITCHENS THAT RUN INSIDE EXTERIOR WALLS OF YOUR HOME CAN ALSO FREEZE. LEAVE SINK CABINET DOORS OPEN FOR ADDED WARMTH AND CONSIDER A SLOW DRIP AS WELL. THE HARD FREEZE WILL KILL CROPS AND SENSITIVE VEGETATION. BRING TENDER PLANTS INDOORS OR COVER THEM IF POSSIBLE.

The high temperature in Peachtree Corners only reached the mid-30s Tuesday. Tonight’s low is expected to plummet to 22 degrees, the weather service forecast said. Wednesday’s overnight low is expected to be 31.

The weather gets warmer after that, with temps in the 60s by the weekend.
