Issues in Life

Slightly over a week ago while working at the Georgia World Congress Center to set up one of my industries best and biggest trade shows, I fell on the loading dock and shattered my right elbow. I won't take you through the painful details of the past week, but as a right hander I can report I had absolutely no idea how much centers around use of that arm.

How quickly issues blow up in our life. Even attemptIng to type this left handed is a real test of my patience. Now put this reasoning into play on the typical everyday issues we all face. When we voted to create our Limited Service City Lite who could have imagined how quickly our friends and neighbors could be corrupted by the power we entrusted to them?

Now our patience is again being tested as they do almost every single thing exactly opposite what they pledged to fight against! They preach to us to shop locally, yet they take our money to a Hall county resort to support that community. Laws and fees are being created so quickly nobody can avoid breaking the law due to not knowing what has been passed this week in secret sessions behind closed doors.

Our city website is loaded with links to various forms for a new fee for almost anything you do around your house. Change out a toilet? Trim or cut down a bad tree? Makes folks want to move away rather than feeling protected! One final rant, What happened to number one priority of better trash service? I know our council officials read the Patch, how about some of you giving us YOUR views of how we've arrived where we are today and why you were willing to forget your promises to the voters about controlling spending and keeping our government LITE? Yes, it seems like issues in life are mostly unpredictable and are requiring much more patience than ever before. No matter which side of the stick you're on. Steve
