           Dan R. Baker is Senior Vice-President of Georgia Commerce Bank, which recently opened a beautiful new branch office at the corner of Peachtree Parkway and Scientific Drive in the heart of Peachtree Corners. Excited about their new presence Dan declares, “We are delighted to bring a unique banking focus to the dynamic and growing business community of Peachtree Corners.” 

          Founded by seasoned entrepreneurs, Georgia Commerce Bank is a business bank.  With a commercial orientation, the bank specializes in lending to closely-held businesses, entrepreneurs, doctors, lawyers, and others in the professional executive market. They provide working capital, lines of credit, financing for equipment and facilities, payroll and remote deposit services, credit cards, as well as serving the personal needs of owners, key persons, and other employees. 

          Dan has been in banking for 40 years, 27 years of those years in Peachtree Corners. He has witnessed the growth of our area from largely wooded country to a vibrant business and residential community as the vision of Paul Duke unfolded. Active in our community, Dan serves on the board of directors of the Peachtree Corners Business Association (PCBA). Dan and the bank assisted the new city of Peachtree Corners with a loan to cover initial operating expenses until taxes could be collected. 

          Founded in 2003, the bank is locally owned and has grown to seven branches. Dan sees the Atlanta-area focus as a distinctive plus. The Peachtree Corners office is staffed with seasoned personnel dedicated to the mission of the bank. This reduces turnover, and allows bank personnel to get to know their clients by name and their ongoing needs as their businesses and personal net worth grows. The Peachtree Corners branch has senior management with decision-making ability. They clearly understand the needs of the business owner and emphasize service and flexibility above all else.           The new branch is on a beautifully landscaped lot in a tastefully remodeled building, a former mega-bank branch that sat vacant for five years. The attractive nature of the facility makes a positive statement in adding to our community.
