Broken Sewer Line Damages Peachtree Corners Circle

Late Thursday morning a main sewer line that runs along Peachtree Corners Circle between Peachtree Forest Drive and Courtside Drive broke causing road damage - and traffic delays.

"The break occurred around 10:15 a.m. yesterday morning and was fixed around 3 a.m. Friday morning," said Joe Sorenson, Communications Director for Gwinnett County.

"It was a 30” sanitary sewer force main located along Peachtree Corners Circle and it broke between Peachtree Forest Drive and Courtside Drive," said Sorenson. "All of the sewage was contained and trucked away."

The county has closed the section of Peachtree Corners Circle between Courtside Drive and Peachtree Forest Drive for repairs.

Sorenson said residents who need "to get to Courtside Drive can get there from Holcomb Bridge; those wanting to get to Peachtree Forest Drive can get there from Jay Bird Alley."

The sewer line break caused damage to Peachtree Corners Circle. The county will be working Friday on the road repairs. 

"The plan is to pave and have it reopened to traffic by [Friday] evening," said Sorenson.
