Burglars Hit Apartment While Resident Was Working Out of Town

A Peachtree Corners trucker called police to report someone had entered his apartment and stole cash and other items while he was on the job out of town.

According to a Gwinnett Police incident report dated Nov. 9, the man asked his girlfriend to check on his Mercer Place residence, located on Hillandale Drive in Peachtree Corners. She found several items missing from the bedroom.

Stolen was $2,500 in cash, a $200 stereo and $200 worth of clothes.

There was no forced entry into the apartment.

The man told police the apartment complex threatened eviction and he was in the process of moving out. There was no record of an eviction order with the Gwinnett Sheriff’s Office.

No one besides the girlfriend had access to the residence.
