Cabbie Found Slumped Over Behind Wheel; Shot in Back of Head

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation and Norcross Police are investigating the shooting death of a taxi cab driver, who was found slumped over in his car in a Gwinnett County apartment complex.

Norcross Police said Afolabi Odifa, a driver for ATL Taxi, was found behind the wheel of his car sometime between 11 p.m. Friday and midnight at the Spring Lakes Apartments, 800 Chase Common Drive.

Responding to a call of a man passed out, Gwinnett County Fire & EMS determined the man was deceased, according to a press release.

“The Gwinnett County Medical Examiner’s Office responded and found the man had been shot,” the release stated. The man had been shot in the back of the head.

“At this time there are no suspects, however investigators are following up on numerous leads,” Norcross PD Capt. Bill Grogan said in an email.

The Norcross PD is assisting in the GBI’s investigation.
