Body of Missing Woman Found Near Lanier Marina
The Gwinnett County woman was last seen jumping off a boat on Labor Day; she never re-surfaced.

The body of a missing swimmer on Lake Lanier was found Thursday morning, authorities said.
Christine Earwood, 49, of Duluth was found near Holiday Marina around 9:15 a.m. The Gaineville Times reported marina patrons called 911 after seeing a body floating in the area.

She had dived off a boat Labor Day evening around 8:20 p.m. and never resurfaced.
The incident happened near Big Creek Park on the south end of the lake, which also is close to Holiday Marina.

WSB-TV reported people who knew the woman said she was a good swimmer.

Search crews were expected back at Lake Lanier Thursday trying to locate a woman who possibly drowned Labor Day after she jumped from a boat.
The Gainesville Times reported crews from the Georgia DNR and Hall County Sheriffβs Office searched the area near Big Creek Park for most of the day Wednesday until severe weather in the area cut the operation short.
Crews were using sonar equipment near the parkβs boat ramp. Big Creek Park is located on the south end of Lake Lanier.
The woman has been missing since around 8:20 p.m. Monday, when she jumped from the boat, but never resurfaced.
