Dreamland BBQ Announces Return to Area
The restaurant chain, which was burned out of its Peachtree Corners location in 2013, says it's opening a location in downtown Duluth.

Dreamland BBQ, which was burned out of its Peachtree Corners location in 2013, will return to Gwinnett County in 2015.
The City of Duluth announced the Alabama-based restaurant franchise chain will open a new restaurant in a vacant, 1950’s era warehouse in downtown. The warehouse, which was once a bustling distribution center for dry and cold goods to stores all across Gwinnett and north Georgia, will be partially demolished and renovated for the new restaurant.
Dreamland is expected to open midyear 2015, the city said.

Dreamland operated a location on Peachtree Parkway in Peachtree Corners, which burned down in January 2013. After first indicating it would rebuild, Dreamland said in July 2013 it was not going to reopen, saying it was “unable to reach amenable lease terms moving forward.”
In a statement about the Duluth opening, Betsy McAtee, CEO of Dreamland Restaurants of Atlanta, said “We could not be more thrilled to call downtown Duluth our new home. We weren’t sure what to expect when the city ask us to visit this old warehouse. After few hours we saw what they saw and we know what an honor this is for our company.”
