Fifth Suspect Arrested in Deadly Gwinnett Home Invasion

Police have arrested another suspect in the Aug. 6 home-invasion murder of Adam Schrier in Duluth.
Brian Joseph Brewner, 28, was arrested Tuesday and charged with murder and armed robbery. He is being held without bond at the Gwinnett County jail, according to online records.
Citing the arrest warrant, the AJC reported Brewner was the ring leader in a scheme to steal illegal drugs from Schrierβs home on Summercrest Lane in Duluth.

He is the fifth of six suspects in the crime to be apprehended. James Stokes of Norcross is still on the run.
Last week, police arrested Devon Jenkins after a standoff with SWAT negotiators. Jenkins is believed to be the triggerman in the shooting, according to the arrest warrant.

Schrier, 37, was shot and killed in his Summercrest Lane residence in Duluth around 6 a.m. on Aug. 6 as he struggled with two home invaders. Schrierβs girlfriend, Jamie Smith, 31, and his 8-year-old daughter were wounded in the attack. Both had non life-threatening injuries.
Previously arrested have been Pierre Cedric Scott, 30, of Snellville, Jonathan Julius Pichardo, 26, of Winder, and an unnamed suspect who was in jail on other charges.
